Being Thankful for Two Crazy Goldendoodles Doodles and My Life.

Lucy, my first doodle, is also known as Satan’s Spawn, Devil Dog and The Force To Be Reckoned With, but I’m so glad that I didn’t miss having this magnificent dog in my life. She started off as a replacement dog for Rosie who had died 5 weeks earlier and in hindsight, maybe I should have waited a little longer, but the house felt so empty. I found Lucy on the Internet and she is probably a puppy mill dog. I really thought she was coming from a reputable breeder but I’d “ordered” a mini-doodle, we took one look at her giant paws and knew she wasn’t a mini. So much for 35 pounds! She weighs 60 pounds, I’ve never had a big dog before so I am thankful to her for giving me this experience. I love big dogs!

Since we really didn’t know how big she was going to be, we made her into a lap dog and at 60 pounds she still wants to crawl into our laps and cuddle.  Yeah! She is the most loving dog that I’ve ever had.

But she was a handful so we decided to get her a “friend.” Enter stage right Mozart. We rescued him from Arkansas and he had definitely  been abused. Even now after 3 years he’s still my fragile little boy. We give him extra love because he needs it.

Thanksgiving 2010. I turned 65, I went on Medicare, I have two wonderful Doodles and oh yeah, a great husband. How lucky can I get?
